Our client sought a robust solution to ensure post-welding cleanliness and full traceability for its GDI pumps. The goal was to integrate advanced laser cleaning technology with real-time data connectivity, guaranteeing quality and compliance across production lines.

Scope of the System

  • Laser Cleaning: Complete 360° cleaning of the outlet fitting surface after welding.
  • Traceability: QR code-based identification linked directly to the client’s Oracle database (not via OPC).
  • Flexibility: Supports multiple product types selectable via recipe management.
  • Compliance with legislation: Designed for an environmentally controlled room, operating reliably 24/5 minimum, with capability for 24/7.

System Architecture

The solution consists of two stations:

Station 1 – Load & Unload

  • Ensures correct part positioning and presence.
  • Integrated 2D reader for QR code scanning outside the cleaning chamber.
  • Mechanical and logical checks for proper seating.

Station 2 – Cleaning Chamber

  • Laser cleaning with PLC-based control.
  • Equipped with a vacuum system for dust removal.
  • Accessible for maintenance and cleanliness activities.

Oracle Integration

  • Real-Time Communication: Direct connection to the client’s Oracle database for traceability.

  • Data Exchange:

    • First Operation: QR code readiness – product details (QR, operation code, reference number, line number, passes) sent to the server.

    • Second Operation: Laser cleaning – records release time, date, operation code, repetitions.

  • Error Handling: If data fails to sync, the part is replaced, and a warning is displayed.
